MacBook Air is a thin, lightweight laptop from Apple. Because it is a full-sized notebook but only weighs three pounds, the laptop falls into a category that people are currently calling ‘ultraportable’.
This all is packed in a thin wedge-shaped aluminium case with an integrated 720p “FaceTime HD” webcam, Touch ID, a thin, backlit revised “third generation” butterfly mechanism keyboard, large “Force Touch” trackpad, and a high-resolution 13.3″ LED-backlit 2560×1600 (227 ppi) “Retina” display with True Tone technology.
The aluminium case is available in three colour options Gold, Silver, and a darker “Space Grey” and weighs 2.75 pounds (1.25 kg). Apple estimates battery life at 12-13 hours depending on the task performed.
Connectivity includes 802.11ac Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.2, two Thunderbolt 3 ports (USB-C connector), and a 3.5 mm headphone jack.
Compared to its predecessor, this MacBook Air looks effectively the same and has the same processor and architecture, but the newer model has a higher quality display (because of the aforementioned True Tone), a revised keyboard design in an effort to improve reliability, a slightly lower powered battery, smaller custom configured SSD options, some different identifiers, and a lower price tag.
